The Optical Society and Hargrove Sign Multi-Year Agreement

1/12/2010 – Hargrove, a nationally renowned general contractor that produces tradeshows, events and custom exhibits, has been selected as general service contractor through 2013 for the following three events:  Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exposition/National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference (OFC/NFOEC); Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics/Quantum Electronics and Laser Science Conference (CLEO/QELS); and Frontiers in Optics/Laser Science (FiO/LS).

Attracting nearly 10,000 optical communications professionals from around the world, OFC/NFOEC was recognized in Tradeshow Week magazine as one of the 200 largest shows in America, the 19th largest show in California and the 6th largest in San Diego in 2008. In 2010 Hargrove will set the 157,000 square foot exhibit hall for more than 500 participating companies, assisting them with their booth properties, installation, freight and dismantling. The next OFC/NFOEC will be held March 21 – 25, 2010 in San Diego, CA.

Thousands of professionals in the fields of lasers, optics, quantum electronics and photonics gather each year at CLEO/QELS where they visit more than 300 vendors in the exhibit hall. The next CLEO/QELS will be held May 16-21, 2010 in San Jose, CA.

Attended by more than 1,500 leaders in optics and photonics and 100 exhibiting companies, FiO/LS 2010 will be held October 24-28 in Rochester, NY.

David Coray, CEM, exhibit operations director for The Optical Society says, “Our relationship with Hargrove has spanned many years, numerous events and several economic upswings and downward turns. Hargrove is an extension of my own team, and I know that I can count on them to support our shows with professionalism and an interest in our success.”

“This contract is a true testament to the wonderfully strong relationship we’ve built with The Optical Society,” says Tim McGill, Hargrove CEO.  “The tradeshows they produce attract experts who are leading the world in lasers, optics and photonics. OSA continues to entrust us with these important events. We honor that trust and are very proud to be associated with OSA.”
